Petroleum Rig Hand Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Petroleum Rig Hand to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in assisting with the operation of pulling units and servicing oil and gas wells. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to work in outdoor conditions with overtime. The Rig Hand works under the direction of the Rig Foreman in a crew. Position averages 55 hours a week.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the operation of pulling units and related equipment to service oil and gas wells.
  • Handle and transport tools, pipes, and other materials required for well servicing.
  • Operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by following company safety guidelines and industry regulations.
  • Rig up and rig down equipment as needed.
  • Assist in wellbore servicing, including pulling and replacing tubing, rods, and pumps.
  • Work closely with the rig operator and other crew members to complete assigned tasks efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or previous oilfield experience
  • Experience working as a laborer, including proficiency with all types of tools
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as a background check
  • CDL not required but leads to other opportunities.
